The Role
You will be working as a Team Leader in our 6 bedded Adults residential service in Wednesbury. You will be caring for Young Adults between the ages of 18 - 40. The service provides care and support for individuals who have moderate to severe learning disabilities, and additional health needs who require 24-hour specialist care and support.
You will support the management team to maintain a safe and enabling environment that provides positive experiences to the adults who are accessing the service. Your role will be to encourage them to develop new skills and to be the best that they can be, whilst also providing the highest quality of care and support to our people. This is a shift based role working 40 hours per week, including weekends. Your time will be split between leading the shift and providing hands on support, and undertaking CQC audits, risk assessments, staff supervisions, rotas etc
You will be caring, compassionate, have a fantastic work ethic and be able to work on your own initiative, whilst following the support and care plans provided for the people we support.
Skills/Abilities

· Experience of Conflict Management and dealing with difficult situations

Shift Details:
- This is a hands’ on, shift based role. You will be leading the shift and supervising staff whilst still providing direct support to the young people in your care. You will be contracted to working 40 hours per week, covering various shifts - 7am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm or long days and your rota will include working at weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe, caring, and consistent environment for young adults
- Empower individuals to achieve personal goals, build confidence, and gain independence
- Ensuring that RSW staff are adequately supported in their personal development and training so that they can actively participate and deliver in meeting all agency standards as assessed by CQC.
- Ensuring that the healthcare, educational and welfare needs of the young people are consistently being met as a consequence of adequate daily management instruction and supervision by the RSW staff.
- To promote and engage in positive relationships with Local Authorities and other agencies.
- To assist the Registered Manager in conducting the RSW supervisions, performance reviews and appraisals of staff.
- To support the management team with weekly/monthly rotas, auditing and record monitoring
- Deliver sensitive, high-quality support tailored to individual needs
- Promote equality and diversity, and assist in the service’s smooth operation
- Support individuals’ health and educational needs
- Encourage the development of life skills for independence
- Plan and participate in leisure activities
- Act as a keyworker, supporting individual care plans
- Follow all policies, procedures, and legislative requirements
- Participate in ongoing professional development
Qualifications & Experience
- NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, Residential Care, or QCF Level 3 equivalent
- Ideally 1 years' experience in a Team Leader or Shift Leader position
- Ideally 2 years’ experience in a residential setting
- Ideally 2 years' experience supporting people with learning disabilities
- Ideally 1 years' experience supporting young people with complex needs
Ideal Candidate
To thrive in this Team Leader role, you should have:
- Strong communication skills
- The ability to communicate on various levels
- Working knowledge of, following, and working to Care Plans
- Experience of shift leading, delegating tasks, providing support and undertaking staff supervisions.
- The ability to work effectively during high pressured situations
- You will ideally hold a full and valid driving license as part of this role can involve transporting the children to and from school and to go out in the community
